Principal's Message

The success story of the inception, growth and blossoming of the Holy Cross Convent English High School, Amravati as it stands today is one that is replete with God’s boundless mercies and dedicated response of human endeavour. The tiny seed planted in 1887 has indeed taken root, grown and spread its branches letting the shade and fruits be enjoyed by the many students who pass through the portals of this institution.

It is an honour and privilege to be at the helm of this great Institution that has lived its vision of providing integral and holistic education for the past133 years. Great minds envisioned education of the girl child and great hearts took this noble task forward without flinching- I salute those zealous missionaries who left all to give their all to build a bright future for all those who cross the portals of the school that stands for excellence and continually sets the highest standards.

This endeavour does not end here; rather new avenues wait to be trod as the society evolves rapidly. Education shapes individuals in their formative years and imbues them with values that would govern all their choices in life. It is said ‘ If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people.’ Indeed one can even say that the quality of education will determine the destiny of the nation.

Dear ex-students, your Alma Mater is proud of you as you shine in the field of your choice and more so for becoming good human beings. Remain true to the motto of your school ‘ Lighted to enlighten’ every time you contribute to the building up of human and spiritual values; thus becoming sensitive to the needs of the society.

We appreciate and remember with gratitude the important role played by our well wishers and benefactors in laying a strong foundation of democratic values for our nation through this esteemed institution.

May all our efforts come to fruition and may our school continue to be a ‘Centre of Integral Formation’. May all the school activities lead to our vision of revealing the unfailing compassion and love of God to His children.

May God bless all our endeavours.

Dear Rev.Sr. Pushpa Thomas HCC, principal and all the esteemed members of the family of Holy Cross Convent English School, Amaravati.

I am happy to know that HCCE School is coming out with its new web page. It is the need of the hour to update the school website to make it as a teaching-learning experience for all. A well designed website is the face of a school. I appreciate the Principal and all those who are involved in this noble endeavour.

We believe that Catholic schools are meant to make men and women for others. As Fr. Pedro Arrupe SJ, the former General of the Society said in 1973 while addressing the Alumni, “ Only by being a man-or-woman-for-others does one become fully human, not only in the merely natural sense, but in the sense of being the “spiritual” person”.

Out purpose of running schools and colleges, Universities and Institutions in the Catholic Church is basically meant to make our students persons of Conscience, Competence, Compassion, Commitment and Coherent in words and actions. Your school has them all in the vision statement of the school. We believe that education must make our students to develop their head, heart and hand. We call it holistic or integral education. In that process the management, staff, students and the parents have a big role to play.

School Website is a platform to exhibit the vision of the school, up to date news of the school, latest happenings in the field of education and also an expression of nurturing the talents and achievement of your students, their creative and imaginative skills are all expressed through this important platform. Congratulations to all who worked for it.

As the JEASA Secretary, I have come across your school as an excellent centre of learning, and am proud of the values, commitment and loyalty to the school by all its stakeholders. I am sure the present students will imbibe the same spirit from their teachers and hand over to the next generation too. I take this opportunity to congratulate the school for organising very relevant and meaningful co-scholastic activities too. Academically your school is excellent so also in social and moral realms.

I wish the school website all the best and to the school all the blessings of the Almighty God.God Bless all!
